28th Street South Complete Streets Project:
On the week of July 8, construction will start on the 28th Street South Complete Streets improvements project. Work will start at Site 3, at the intersection of 28th Street South and the southwest corner of Gunston Park and is expected to last about two weeks before moving to Site 2. The eastbound bus stop will close during construction, Reg ID 6000073; passengers should use the next stop 300 feet before this stop, Reg Id 6000077.
STAR Severe Weather Policy
During a major weather event, STAR will follow the Federal Government's operating status.
If Federal Government offices are closed for the day due to weather and/or hazardous road conditions:
- All rides will be canceled with the exception of dialysis clients, and
- The STAR Call Center will be closed.
If Federal Government offices open two hours late:
- All rides before 10:00 a.m. will be canceled with the exception of dialysis clients, and
- The STAR Call Center will open two hours late, at 9:00 a.m.
If Federal Government offices close early:
- STAR will try to return all clients that had scheduled trips home in the system. STAR will try to transport dialysis clients on schedule. Other rides originating from home will be canceled.
- The STAR Call Center will close two hours after the federal government offices close.
On weekends and holidays, if service must be reduced, a STAR Alert be sent and the Call Center phone line message will be updated.
