How to Ride for Senior Citizens

Senior Discount

Citizens age 65 and older can ride the ART bus for half price ($1.00).

The yellow Senior SmarTrip card enables seniors (65+) to get discounted fare on ART, Metrobus and Metrorail. It works just like a regular SmarTrip card and fare is automatically deducted when the card is tapped on the fare box. The card is free. To get the card, seniors need to show a valid government issued photo ID with proof of age at either the Metro sales office at Metro Center station (enter at 12th & F Streets) or any Commuter Store.
