Service Alerts28th Street South Complete Streets Project: On the week of July 8, construction will start on the 28th Street South Complete Streets improvements project. Work will start at Site 3, at the intersection of 28th Street South and the southwest corner of Gunston Park and is expected to last about two weeks before moving to Site 2. Truck and ART Bus Day at Central Library

Trucks and other cool vehicles will be taking over the parking lot at Central Library on Saturday, May 20 from 9 am - 11 am. The event is a chance for kids of all ages to touch and explore vehicles that they usually only see from afar. The ART bus will be there for kids to board and look around on. Other vehicles expected to be there include:

  • A fire engine from Arlington Fire Department
  • A flush truck, T.V. truck, dump truck, and backhoe from Arlington County Department of Environmental Services.
  • A SWAT truck from Arlington Police Department
  • A concrete mixer from Vulcan materials
  • Arlington Transit’s ART bus
  • A large truck from Redman Trucking
  • A trash truck from American Disposal Services

Truck and Bus Day will be held at Arlington’s Central Library, located at 1015 N Quincy St., Arlington.

Take the Metro and get off at the Virginia Square or Ballston Metro (5-minute walk) or stop or ART41, 42, 53A. METROBUS 38B, 25B, 22A, 1A, 10B, 23A,T.

The trucks will be parked in the back parking lot of the library. Limited parking will be available.
