28th Street South Complete Streets Project:
On the week of July 8, construction will start on the 28th Street South Complete Streets improvements project. Work will start at Site 3, at the intersection of 28th Street South and the southwest corner of Gunston Park and is expected to last about two weeks before moving to Site 2. The eastbound bus stop will close during construction, Reg ID 6000073; passengers should use the next stop 300 feet before this stop, Reg Id 6000077.
Stuff-the-Bus Event on September 26 & 27

As part of Hunger Action Month in September, Arlington Transit will partner with the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) and Giant Foods to take action against hunger by challenging the community to “stuff" STAR (Specialized Transit for Arlington Residents) vans full of non-perishable food items.
Stuff the Bus events will be held on September 26 and 27 at two different Giant Food stores in Arlington, VA. STAR vehicles will be parked in front of the Giant stores to fill full of food donations. Volunteers will be at the grocery stores to collect donations. No flyers will be handed out and donations can be dropped into dedicated shopping carts outside the stores. The most wanted food items are:
- Canned vegetables
- Soups
- Beans
- Tuna
- Peanut Butter
- Cereal
Stuff-a-Bus Events will be held:
Saturday, September 26 & Sunday, September 27
10 am - 5 pm
Giant Food at Lyon Village -- 3115 Lee Hwy.
Giant Food at Virginia Square -- 3450 Washington Blvd.
All of the food collected will be donated to the AFAC who will distribute it to the more than 2,200 families a week who rely on AFAC for free supplemental groceries.
