Rider Capacity Restrictions Lifted on ART Buses Starting August

July 27, 2021

Starting Sunday, August 1, rider capacity restrictions will be lifted on all ART buses. Seats inside the buses will no longer be blocked off, and buses will not be limited to a certain number of passengers. Riders will still be required to wear face masks when riding all ART buses.

If you see an ART bus that has the “Bus Full” sign displayed on the front between now and August 1, please call ART Customer Service at 703-228-7433 and let them know the bus number and route that is full. Operations will look into addressing the issue for service the next day.
