 iRide SmarTrip Card

With summer coming to an end, the countdown for back-to-school is on. Students probably have a list with items to buy like new clothes, supplies and backpacks — but have you thought about the Student iRide SmarTrip Card?

Arlington K – 12 students qualify for the Student iRide SmarTrip Card, which functions like a regular SmarTrip Card with the added benefit of half-price ART fares. The card can be purchased at any Commuter Store location or from the Mobile Commuter Store which makes regularly scheduled stops around Arlington. The card costs $2 and the student must be present at the time of purchase.

The Student iRide SmarTrip card lets students:
• Ride the ART bus for the student discount fare of $1
• Ride Metrorail and Metrobus at full fare
• Take advantage of two (2) hours of free bus transfers
• Reload the iRide card at any Metro station, Commuter Store and online
