ART joins AFAC for Annual Stuff the Bus Event

September 16, 2024

In September, the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) participates in events across Arlington to mark Hunger Action Month, a nationwide initiative aimed at inspiring action against hunger. This year, AFAC is teaming up with Arlington Transit (ART) and Arlington County Environmental Services for the Stuff the Bus food drive. We’re just a few days away from the event, where the goal is to stuff one of our ART buses with 10,000 pounds of healthy, non-perishable food donations. You can shop for groceries at the Virginia Square Giant Food Store (3450 Washington Blvd) on our rescheduled dates, Saturday, October 19, and Sunday, October 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donate canned goods and other non perishable food items on your way out to help reach this goal. Every can counts in our effort to support those facing food insecurity in our community!
