ART 43, 45 and 55 Detours on October 28 for Marine Corps Marathon

October 18, 2018

On Sunday, October 28, the ART 43, 45 and 55 routes will be detoured due to the Marine Corps Marathon. The detours will last from the start of service for each route until 6:00 pm, unless otherwise noted. The ART 45 and 55 bus stops in Rosslyn will be relocated to N. Oak St., between Wilson and Key Blvds.  See below for the detour for each route.

ART 43 Detours

ART 43 Northbound to Court House 

Buses will operate the regular route to Bell St & 18th St. S. then begin the detour.

Last stop before buses begin detour: Crystal City Metro Station
First stop after buses resume regular routing: Clarendon Blvd, EB @ N Uhle St (Court House Metro)
Stops not served: Crystal Drive, NB @ VRE Station and Wilson Blvd, WB @ N Moore St, FS

 

ART 43 Southbound to Crystal City

Buses will operate the regular route to Clarendon Blvd & N. Courthouse Rd and then begin the detour.

Last stop before buses begin detour: Clarendon Blvd, EB @ N Uhle St (Court House Metro)
First stop after buses resume regular routing: Crystal City Metro Station
Stops not served: Wilson Blvd, EB @ Fort Myer Dr.

ART 45 Detours

Due to multiple street closures in the Rosslyn corridor including North Moore St., transit services from the Rosslyn Transit Center will relocate two (2) blocks west to N Oak St., between Wilson Blvd. & N Key Blvd. A temporary bus stop pole and flag will be at this location.

ART 45 Northbound to Rosslyn

Buses will operate the regular route to Clarendon Blvd and N Oak St and then go to the temporary Rosslyn Metro bus stop located at N Oak St, between Wilson and Key Blvds.

Last stop served before detour: Clarendon Blvd @ N Pierce St
First stop served after detour: Wilson Blvd @ N Rhodes St
Stops not served during detour: N Nash Street @ Wilson Blvd


ART 45 Southbound to Columbia Pike

Buses begin detouring after the temporary Rosslyn Metro bus stop located at N Oak St, between Wilson and Key Blvds. The regular route resumes on Wilson Blvd at N Quinn St.

Last stop served before detour: Temporary Rosslyn Metro bus stop on N Oak St, between Wilson and Key Blvds.
First stop served after detour: Wilson Blvd @ N Rhodes St
Stops not served during detour: N Nash St, NB @ Wilson Blvd

ART 55 Detours

Street closings in and around Rosslyn for race and post-race activities makes it necessary for ART 55 to have one detour from the start of service until 12:00 pm and a different detour from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm. See below for information on both detours.

All buses that stop at the Rosslyn Metro station, including ART 55, will be moved two blocks west to N Oak St, between Wilson and Key Blvds.

Start of service until 12:00 pm

ART 55 Westbound to East Falls Church

The route will start at the temporary Rosslyn Metro bus stop located at N Oak St, between Wilson and Key Blvds and then start the detour. All westbound bus stops on Lee Highway between the Rosslyn Metro station and N Quincy St will not be served. The regular route will resume on Lee Highway after N Quincy St.

Last stop served before detour: Temporary Rosslyn Metro bus stop located at N Oak St, between Wilson and Key Blvds

First stop served after detour: Lee Hwy @ 21st Road N

Stops not served during detour: All westbound bus stops on Lee Highway between the Rosslyn Metro station and N Quincy Street

ART 55 Eastbound  to Rosslyn

Buses begin detouring at Lee Highway and N Quincy Street. All eastbound bus stops on Lee Highway between N Quincy Street and the Rosslyn Metro station will not be served. The detour will go to the temporary Rosslyn Metro bus stop located at N Oak St, between Wilson and Key Blvds.

Last stop served before detour: Lee Hwy @ N Randolph Street

First stop served after detour: Temporary Rosslyn Metro bus stop located at N Oak St, between Wilson and Key Blvds

Stops not served during detour: All eastbound bus stops on Lee Highway between N Quincy Street and the Rosslyn Metro station

NOTE: Buses will serve bus stops along Washington Blvd and Clarendon Blvd from N. Nelson Street to N. Pierce Street.

12:00 pm until 6:00 pm

ART 55 Westbound to East Falls Church

The route will start at the temporary Rosslyn Metro bus stop located at N Oak St, between Wilson and Key Blvds and then start the detour. The regular route will resume on Lee Highway at N Scott Street.

First stop served after detour: Lee Highway @ N Vance Street

Stops not served during detour: Lee Hwy @ N Nash St, Lee Hwy @ N Oak St, Lee Hwy @ N Scott St

55 Eastbound to Rosslyn

Buses begin detouring on Lee Highway at N Veitch Street and go to the temporary Rosslyn Metro bus stop located at N. Oak St., between Wilson and Key Blvds.

Last stop served before detour: Lee Hwy @ N Adams St

First stop served after detour: Temporary Rosslyn Metro bus stop located at N. Oak St., between Wilson and Key Blvds

Stops not served during detour: Lee Hwy @ N Veitch St, Lee Hwy @ N Rhodes St, Lee Hwy @ N Quinn St, Lee Hwy @ Fort Myer Dr

NOTE: Buses will serve bus stops along Clarendon Blvd from N. Veitch to N. Pierce Street.
