ART 54 and 92 Service to End on June 22
May 17, 2018
The last day of service for the ART 54 and 92 bus routes will be Friday, June 22, 2018. Both routes will provide service through the end of the day on June 22 and then cease operations.
The two routes were eliminated as part of Arlington County’s FY 2019 budget and to improve efficiency of ART service. Both bus routes perform below ART’s minimum service standards of 15 passengers per hour.
The ART 54 route connects the Dominion Hills, Madison Manor and Highland/Overlee Knolls neighborhoods with the East Falls Church Metrorail station during weekday AM and PM rush hours. Alternative bus service in these areas is available on nearby major streets, including Metrobus Route 1A and 1B on Wilson Boulevard and Metrobus Route 2A on Washington Boulevard.
The ART 92 is a weekday route that serves the Pentagon Metro, Crystal City Metro and VRE station as well as Long Bridge Park. Many destinations on the route are accessible by walking from the Crystal City Metro and VRE stations. There are also several Capital Bikeshare stations located in the area that can serve as a travel alternative.
